I'm an Idiot.

This morning I got to work with a message for me to go to a review session as a teaching assistant for Statistics 221 at 4:00pm. I figured it would be ok since I am done with all of my classes and work by 2:00pm. I finished up all my classes and went back to work to pick up the materials for the review. I walked into the classroom, set up all the materials, and began to wait for the students and the professor to show up. I noticed that it was pretty close to the hour and nobody was there. Weird. I waited and waited and finally I looked up on Blackboard the time and place of the review. I was in the right room, just two hours early. Whoops! So here I sit in a very big, empty room waiting for 6:00 to arrive so we can begin the review. My only excuse is...well, there isn't one. :)

This week....

This week has been a very busy week. Unfortunately, I don't have very much to report about it though. It basically consisted of 12 to 16 hour days on campus doing homework and working. I had a humongous statistics test today and a business management test yesterday. I hope they went well.
So I have a random story...I bought this new kind of mascara last week, and I pulled it out on Sunday to wear it. It is a waterproof mascara and I found that I would not wash off my face when I tried to get it off on Sunday night. I tried everything from make-up remover, to face soap, to regular soap. I guess all the different kind of soaps irritated my eyes really bad because the skin around my eyes reacted big time. The skin turned bright red and burned for three days. I seriously looked like I was stoned or had been crying really hard. I felt completely disgusting with bright red eyes, so I avoided eye contact with everyone. I even saw one of my good friends and I turned around and walked away from he saw me so that I would not be seen. It was so embarrassing! I am very glad though that my eyes are back to normal. I actually wrote to the company telling them about my dilemma and they are giving me coupons to some of their other products. By the way, it was Marathon Mascara by Covergirl. Don't buy it.

Weekend!

It's the weekend! Thank goodness; so here I sit in the library doing homework all day. BYU has only been in session for two weeks and I already have two tests coming up next week. I will be studying most of the day for them. It's ok though. I am really liking my classes this year. The material is very interesting.
Last night, two of my friends and I decided to go to Cafe Rio and then the BYU's Fall Fest. Cafe Rio was amazing as always, but Fall Fest wasn't that great. We weren't really sure what to expect, but we figured it would be fun to get out of our apartments and at least attempt to do something fun. There was salsa dancing, laser tag, a bunch of video games to play, singers and bands performing, an actual dance out in Brigham's Square and other activities. This all seems like it would be fun, except for the massive amounts of people who attended and the big lines to get into everything. We ended up leaving after about 30 minutes of wandering around without doing anything.
We ended up back at one of our apartments to play games. We played Pit, Scum, and War. Our selection of games wasn't that great and there were only three people playing. Anyway, I had never played Pit before, and it was kind of interesting to play a game that tries to resemble a market economy. Scum was frustrating! One person won every single round, and we probably played 20 rounds. We could not overtake him. War was our last resort to find something to do. Of course it lasted way too long and I was very grateful to lose.
Overall, last night was a fun night. It is always fun to take a break from school work and spend time with your friends.

School

So I have nearly made it through the first week of school, and it has been a long week! I feel like I have frantically been trying to figure out my schedule all week. My work schedule has switched probably 10 times, and getting back into school mode has been more difficult for me this semester. All my classes seem interesting--which is a relief because I wanted to quit last semester. I absolutely loved my Business Management class today. The spiritual thought the professor gave really got me thinking about adversity and how we cannot give up. I am so excited to learn about different religions in my World Religions class. I have always had an interest in other people's beliefs and I think this class will help me understand what others are thinking.
I am really excited for the long weekend. I am not sure what I will do, but I will try to do something fun. If not, I am sure relaxing will be just fine too. I turn the ripe old age of 22 on Sunday. Maybe I'll have a party or something. You're all invited. Dang I'm old.
